The term ‘Logistics’ was known and used only by professionals barely two years ago. Nowadays more and more trade companies confront with logistics - particularly those which specialise in retail and wholesales, manufacturing of various sorts of production, organization of transportations and managing of warehouses.
The activity of the transport forwarding company “Rhenus Svoris” - the first private capital company in Lithuania and better known as ‘Svoris‘ since 1989 - more and more relates with this term. Years of work brought recognition and acknowledgement in the Lithuanian transportation market. Currently company pays particular attention to the creation of the new products and meeting the customers needs in transportation and logistics.
„Rhenus Svoris” belongs to one of the top logistics groups in Europe today – “Rhenus Logistics” – it’s annual turnover runs around a half Lithuanian budget, i.e. 3.1 mlrd. EUR There are 290 representatives within the whole Europe and 18 thousand people working in them.
Company‘s long-time experience in transportation market and a large network of partners resulted in developing regular groupage lines system from the European countries: presently “Rhenus svoris” holds 30 regular groupage lines. The most popular ones operate from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The transportations from Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden and other countries are constantly increasing.
More than 30 "Rhenus Svoris" trucks operate throughout Lithuania everyday. We transport goods by thermo transport, organize transportations of heavy and oversized shipments. For the special needs of our customers we offer individual solutions, when different kinds of transport are combined together.
"Rhenus Svoris" offers the market a global provision of service, which takes over a number of processes: collection of the goods, transportation between terminals, delivery for consignee. More and more company’s customers request for all the logistics processes and services carried out by the professionals. „Rhenus Svoris” is situated in two major Lithuanian cities: there are modern heated storehouses with the spacious office building in Vilnius and for your convenience our branch office is situated in Kaunas. In our warehouse we are able to load and unload up to 6 trucks at one time. The goods of various quantity transported from all over Europe are loaded in our terminal and delivered to the consignees in Lithuania. Trucks are leaving the terminal regularly and transport goods to Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
The accounting and controlling of the goods in the warehouse of logistics is performed by the management and accounting system created and implanted in the warehouse by the company “Equinox Europe”. Through this system it is not only possible to perform the accounting of the goods, but also to view the exact place of the goods in the warehouse. In addition to this, it is also possible to connect this system to customer’s accounting system and to watch directly the movement and quantity of the goods in the warehouse. Working processes in the warehouse are being observed by the video camera and if it is necessary videotapes may be restored and reviewed.
